Wear Yellow Supports Pets As Therapy

Pupils attended a whole-school charity assembly led by Mrs Williams, who shared valuable insights into the role therapy animals play in supporting wellbeing, learning and recovery across a range of settings.

During the assembly, pupils learned about the work of Pets As Therapy, a charity dedicated to enhancing health and wellbeing through visits from specially assessed therapy animals. Mrs Williams brought along Tucker, her Pets As Therapy dog, explaining how he helps bring comfort, confidence and companionship to the people he meets through his visits.

The assembly helped pupils understand the positive impact that therapy animals can have on individuals of all ages, whether in schools, hospitals, care homes or other community settings.

Pupils were also reminded that funds raised through our recent Yellow Day non-uniform event will be donated to Pets As Therapy, supporting the charity's ongoing work and helping more people experience the benefits of therapy animal visits. Mrs Williams shared that £3 can cover the cost of a Pets As Therapy visit, showing how even small donations can help bring comfort, companionship and support to those who need it most.
