Wrekin Election 2024
The Wrekin General Election 2024 began with hustings where we heard from the leaders of the Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrat parties, who set out their key manifesto pledges on major issues including the economy, taxation, the NHS, immigration, the environment and education.
The second hustings saw the Green Party join the fray and a packed audience then posed more tricky questions to each party leader, leading to great political debate.
After several weeks of campaigning Wrekin went to the polls, with the exit poll suggesting that the Conservative Party led by Jake would claim the victory.
The results announced to the whole school in Chapel declared that the Conservative Party had taken a decisive victory, with the Liberal Democrats second, the Green Party in third, and Labour coming in fourth.
Congratulations to Jake and the rest of the Conservative Party for an excellent campaign that led to their victory, and well done to all the parties for really getting into the spirit of the Election.
