Wrekin Netball third in country at National Cup

HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT FOR WREKIN NETBALL AS THEY SECURE PLACES IN
BOTH NATIONAL SCHOOLS AND NATIONAL CUP FINALS WITHIN TWO WEEKS.

Wrekin’s Under 19 Netball team delivered a scintillating performance in the National Cup semifinal
against a strong Bromsgrove School side to secure their place in the National Cup final. This
remarkable result marked a historic moment for Wrekin, as the team qualified for both the National
Schools final and the National Cup final within the space of just two weeks. Captained by Roses
Academy and Nottingham Forest NexGen player, Millie, the squad have worked tirelessly in their
pursuit of competing with the very best. Their dedication and commitment have brought them to this exciting stage.

The team travelled to the English Institute of Sport for the finals to face some of the strongest
netball schools in the country. Competing against much larger schools they played an exceptionally
high standard of netball to be placed sixth in the country, a phenomenal achievement.

This was followed by an incredible performance which saw Wrekin crowned bronze medallists in the
national cup finals just three days later. Following on from the success of our Under 19s, the Under
14s also competed in the National Cup finals. They came away with a credible fourth place nationally,
and we look forward to watching their progress in their Wrekin netball journey.
