Wrekin Prep Art Round-Up: Creativity and Inspiration Across the Years
It has been an exciting week in the Wrekin Prep art studio!
Year 3 pupils, inspired by their recent Zoolab visit, have created stunning natural form prints capturing the shapes and patterns of the animals they met.
Year 5 have been exploring expressive acrylic painting, drawing inspiration from the work of artist Corey Barksdale to celebrate Black History Month, while Year 4 have been looking at the bold and vibrant style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. They recreated his techniques in portraits of inspirational figures such as Marcus Rashford, Rosa Parks, Benjamin Zephaniah, and Mary Jackson.
Meanwhile, the Year 3 and 4 children in Art Club have also been marking Black History Month by creating beautiful portraits of inspiring individuals, including Martin Luther King Jr., Michelle Obama, Benjamin Zephaniah, and Rosa Parks.
From prints and portraits to expressive paintings, our pupils have embraced creativity and used art to celebrate the achievements of remarkable people, both past and present.
