Wrekin Prep Sports Round-Up: A Fantastic Fortnight of Activity
The past two weeks have been packed with energy, enthusiasm and outstanding sporting spirit across Wrekin Prep. From our youngest pupils exploring movement in creative ways, to our older teams competing with determination, it’s been a brilliant fortnight celebrating #SportForAll. Here’s a look at what our pupils have been up to:
Year 6 Pickleball Championships
Our Year 6 pupils have been thoroughly enjoying their Pickleball Championships, bringing fantastic energy, teamwork and competitive spirit to every match.
Since being introduced just over two years ago, Pickleball has quickly become one of the most popular sports at Wrekin Prep. From Reception to Year 6, pupils have embraced this fast-paced, inclusive game with both confidence and smiles. It has been wonderful to see how their skills and sportsmanship continue to grow.
Under 9 Girls Football: A Show of Grit and Team Spirit
Well done to our Under 9 Girls Football team, who put in an incredible performance in an exceptionally tough match. Their determination, teamwork and skill were evident from start to finish. We are incredibly proud of their attitude and the quality football they produced throughout.
House Sports Competitions Heat Up
Competition is buzzing across school as our Sports House Competitions continue with girls’ and boys’ football and hockey. The atmosphere has been electric, with pupils showcasing fantastic teamwork, resilience and true Wrekin Prep spirit. Every goal scored, every tackle made and every cheer from the sidelines brings us closer to discovering which House will lift the trophy this term.
Year 1 PE: Balloon Fun and Big Smiles
Our Year 1 pupils had an unforgettable PE session filled with balloon races, teamwork challenges and creative movement games. Laughter and excitement filled the hall as the children practised coordination, balance and control; all while having enormous fun.
Year 2 on the Move: Football & Hockey Fun
Year 2 have been making the most of the astros, enjoying action-packed football and hockey sessions. Their determination, teamwork and enthusiasm have been a joy to watch, from confident tackles to well-earned high-fives.
