Wrekin Prep Swimmers at National Championships
We are incredibly proud of Zak, Fliss, Charles, Kitty and Georgia, who represented Wrekin Prep at the ESSA National Primary Teams Championships in Sheffield.
Competing against some of the strongest primary school swimming teams in the country, our swimmers delivered outstanding performances in both the 4 x 25m Freestyle Relay and the 4 x 25m Mixed Medley Relay.
The team achieved an impressive 19th place overall in the Freestyle Relay, recording a fantastic five-second personal best. They then qualified for the B Final of the Mixed Medley Relay, where they secured an outstanding 14th place overall with an incredible seven-second personal best.
To be ranked among the very best large-school swimming teams in the nation is a remarkable achievement and reflects the dedication, commitment, and teamwork shown by our swimmers throughout the season.
This national success rounds off an exceptional year for Wrekin Prep swimming. From local competitions through to the national stage, our swimmers have continued to impress with their determination, hard work and resilience. Qualifying for an event of this calibre is an achievement in itself, and to produce such outstanding performances against the country's best is something the whole school community can celebrate.
Congratulations to Zak, Fliss, Charles, Kitty and Georgia on a fantastic achievement, and to Mr Tatton for his continued support and dedication to developing our talented swimmers.
