Wrekin Students enjoy South African Exchange at Selborne College
Harry and Joe, have begun an exciting three-week exchange visit to the prestigious Selborne College in South Africa.
During their stay, Harry and Joe have joined the Grade 11 cohort at Selborne College, giving them the opportunity to experience daily life at one of South Africa’s leading boys’ schools. Over the final two weeks, they will attend lessons alongside their South African peers, take part in co-curricular activities, and immerse themselves in a different educational environment.
The exchange also coincides with several key events in the Selborne calendar. Harry and Joe will have the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the annual Selborne College versus Stirling High School Derby Weekend, as well as a range of inter-house activities that form an important part of school life.
As part of the visit, the students will stay in Norton House, experiencing boarding life at Selborne firsthand. During the school holiday period, they will be hosted by local families, allowing them to explore the culture, history and natural beauty of the Eastern Cape while building friendships and connections that extend beyond the classroom.
International exchanges are a valued part of the Wrekin experience, offering students the chance to broaden their horizons, develop independence and confidence, and gain a deeper understanding of different cultures and communities. This visit continues the longstanding partnership between Wrekin College and Selborne College and reflects the shared commitment of both schools to providing meaningful global opportunities for their students.
