Year 2 Explore the Meaning of Advent

Pupils reflect on symbolism and tradition following Rev. Plummer’s chapel service

Following an inspiring chapel service from Rev. Plummer, Year 2 pupils took part in a thoughtful RS lesson this week, delving into the traditions and symbolism of Advent.

Pupils learned why Advent wreaths are made with evergreen leaves; representing everlasting love and why the wreath is round, signifying love with no beginning or end. They also explored the meaning behind the four candles that are lit on each Sunday leading up to Christmas.

It was a reflective and engaging session, helping pupils prepare for this special season with understanding and curiosity.
