Year 5 Steps Back in Time at Harvington Hall

Pupils explore Tudor history through costumes and historic treasures

As part of their Year 5 driver topic, Off With Her Head!, pupils enjoyed a fascinating trip to Harvington Hall, a beautiful Tudor manor in Worcestershire with a rich history dating back to the 1580s.

Dressed in period costumes, pupils became ‘experimental archaeologists’, exploring the house and discovering how people lived during Tudor times. They investigated hidden rooms, learned about Tudor domestic life, and took part in a variety of engaging carousel activities, including Tudor Games, The Tudor Board, Mystery Objects, and The Great Chamber.

The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to build on their classroom learning in a fun and immersive setting. By experiencing history first-hand, they developed a deeper understanding of the Tudor period and had plenty of fun along the way!
