Year 5 Trip to Wenlock Pottery

Our Year 5 pupils recently enjoyed a fantastic visit to Wenlock Pottery, where they took part in a range of hands-on pottery activities linked to their learning about Ancient Greece.

During the visit, the pupils had the opportunity to create their own ceramic pots using a potter’s wheel and design decorative tiles inspired by Greek patterns and motifs. Having planned their designs in Art lessons, they were able to bring their ideas to life and develop new creative skills throughout the day.

The trip provided a valuable opportunity for pupils to connect their History and Art learning in a practical way. It was lovely to see the pupils engaged in the activities, taking time to develop their ideas and enjoy trying something new. We look forward to seeing their finished pottery pieces when they are returned from firing.
